Cyber crops are the best!

Signed up for a Cyber Crop with the WHOGAS!?  (Who Gives a Scrap) Facebook group run by the super talented and super multi-tasker Ms. Patricia Barnett!  Kinda scary when you sign up for a cyber crop because you don't know the challenges ahead of time and so you get all out of your comfort zone.  I always have a problem when people have me using a bunch of ribbon and buttons so I was leery....
So, out of the 11 challenges, I did 5 (2 of them I did twice) and then I did some JFM (just for me layouts)-did I mention that I knocked a serious dent in my February Counterfeit Challenge Kit as well??  I tried to use it as much as I can but I admit, I went downstairs into my stash and grabbed 2 other bags of embellishments and 2 other paper pads.  Still stash busting though so kudos to me for that!!

It's a Scrappy and artsy Sunday!

So, with a sick kid on board, I got to turn on the Winter Olympics (I'm SOOOOO addicted to the winter sports even though I hate snow lol) and take over the dining room table.  Normally I'd go down to the studio, but it's just too cold down there!  So, even though my husband hates it, I brought ALL my artsy crap up here and actually got a lot of layouts done!

All supplies from my February Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit (CKCB) along with a few other supplies since the bff2 just gifted me a huge Hobby Lobby haul!
Did 3 layouts for challenges with the Paper Issues Facebook challenge group. The first one was for their Take 5 Challenge-they have a list of supplies and you pick 5 (or more) and make a layout!  I think I chose turquoise, heart, shiny, cardstock, and patterned paper!  I think that's the first time in YEARS that I've used a cardstock background that wasn't black, white or kraft!  Very outta my comfort zone :)

The next two were from Scraplift Saturday (could be Sunday) of a layout done by their DT member Becky.  When I do their scraplifts, I usually do two layouts, one of the boy and one of the girl!

I loved the layout she did so much that I'm going to actually lift it two more times, rotating the sketch like some other ladies did!  If you aren't part of their challenges PI on Facebook, you should be!

I did also watch a mixed media online class with the super talented Dee Dee Catron from UmWow Studio with every intention of posting about it and the project but I didn't have all the supplies so I just watched it for technique :)   So, I'm off to eat dinner and maybe knock out some more layouts (2-3) if I have time before bed since nothings rally on tv besides snowboarding :):)  Happy Sunday!

Another sketch blog and another layout!

Stuck?! Sketches is up for the next layout using my February Counterfeit (CKCB) kit!  I'm on a roll ya'll!  Ms. Laura Whitaker provides this month's sketchy inspiration and I think I may have to use this more than once!

Me and my trusty sidekick...using my February Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit, I did add the pompoms in at the last minute!

Tuesday's all about sketches!

First up, a blog I just found (don't tell me why I'm always "just" finding challenge blogs that have been around, I'm just weird like that) called Sketches In Thyme.  What I like about them is that they have sketches for the amount of photos you have...Pretty Cool!  Fell in love with their Sketch # 311 by Jenessa:
And my take on it, I was determined to use up some of these pictures that I had printed LAST YEAR!
Me and the twinnie...I think we were going to go see a Journey cover band that night!
ps-this is Layout # 1 from my February Counterfeit (CKCB) kit !!

February CKCB kit is up!

Weekend in Paris Classic Kit

The 2018 Feb inspiration is up at the Counterfeit kit Challenge blog!  This month, their inspiration is light and airy-comes from Noel Mignon and her 2017 "Weekend in Paris" classic kit.  I was primarily inspired by the teals, pinks, blacks and yellows of the papers so I started there as far as papers go...reminded me of a lot of Maggie Holmes.  There was a YouTube video of the unboxing of it (of course I can't find it now) that showed all the papers in detail.  Think carnival meets girly vintage charm!
My papers:

Also because of the video, I added a second paper set (I have a lot of scrapping to catchup on since I didn't scrap anything in January)

and two groups of embellishments...loved the bows, enamels, puffies, washi and more...
and there ya go...my version of Carousel meets Southern Girl charm :)  Now off to scrap while I watch the SuperBowl!!

You Raise Me Up!

Challenge #  49 over at Scrap Challenge YOUrself is up- get inspired by song lyrics :)  This month they want us to create a layout using the inspiration song "You Raise Me Up" written by Rolf Lovland, lyrics by Brendan Graham and brought to our attention by the super talented  singer Josh Groban.  I jumped on this challenge because my beloved Aunt Rita always loved Josh Groban-he was her favorite! !  I remember buying her a Josh Groban CD one year and hope she played it over and over :)
MY TAKE on the challenge:  (loved using the Jane Davenport paper (girl) on a layout!
Beautiful floral background paper is from the One Big Happy Family collection by Paper House Productions-love this paper pad!!

Finally doing some Jan scrapping!

Finally started, better late than never!  Started with all of my challenges at Paper Issues.  For Scraplift Sunday, I packed up a few kits of stash I wanted to use and stated with scraplifting this awesome layout from the super duper talented Cassie Box:
and so I had to lift it twice-once for the girl and once for the boy:

Thanks for popping by-I'll be updating as I scrap so that I can keep up!

It's 2018...I gotta do better! I swear...

It's been a whole month since I've been here! I should be ashamed...BUT, life gets in the way sometimes, well, most times. Let's kiss & make up and catchup shall we??!!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

December-full of sickness (kids and Thing 3)...December Daily-my first ever and no, it's still not done because since the kids were sick, we didn't really do anything fun!  No going out to eat, no Christmas  photo shoot, no Christmas lights at all!  We made plans but they all fell through due to the flu (the boy stayed out of school for 8 days sick as a dog! I guess I can document that though :)  We did decorate a little bit and we did do Ugly Christmas tshirts but we never wore them :(

December also bought a new way to do holidays; we decided that we have enough of the STUFF.  Life should be about being more present in what you do instead of what you got so we decided to decrease the gifts to about 4 for each child and to travel for the holiday.  So off we jetted to the Dominican Republic.

Not my favorite  trip for a variety of reasons, but it was our first time traveling during the American holidays and so next time, I'll know what to do and what not to do.  And of course, 24  hours after we returned, who got extremely sick?? ME!!  Norovirus and it was not pretty...6 days of illness before I felt almost 100%.  So, today was the first day of catching  up  email and the blog; tomorrow will be the first day going back to playing with some paper!  See you on the weekend for more catchup!

December 15, 2017

December 15th and I haven't posted a single thing for December because I have been super busy and also because I haven't had time to craft!  I plan on rectifying that situation this weekend for sure...come back for some pictures of my first December Diary (couldn't do a daily) and some layouts cause I AM making time for myself this weekend!

Will catch you up in the "fast weekend update" sometime this weekend, but for now, how about a Flashback Friday layout???

November 30, 2017

last day of the month already?/Finishing up my kit

It truly does NOT feel like we are about to go into December and that's ok with me...temps are warm for us (58 degrees and sunny)...man, where has time gone???!!!  Well, as I said yesterday, I got a lot of layouts done just for me and so here's the rest of how I killed my November Counterfeit Kit.

I present to you Layouts # 7- 14 :

I actually have 3 more but they photographed pretty weird and it's dark out so I'll post 2 of them tomorrow (1 is of my great niece and I'd rather not post her on the blog since I don't have permission and she's a little kid :)) - see ya tomorrow for the start of a new month!

CKCB November hoard (photo heavy)

I know I just posted my November Counterfeit Challenge Kit 2 weeks ago and normally, I'd post layouts as I went along BUT with the kids home last week, I checked out on technology (I still scrapped at night though)  and so you're just  seeing some layouts!  I am never caught up on scrapping any photos, so I'm STILL just scrapping what's in my totes or on my desk :)

Remember I met Dee Dee Catron when I went to Vegas last month?  Well, when I got back, I ordered some stuff from her ...received some awesome flair and stencils from Unwow Studios  and how awesome is this light bulb??!!
So there you have Round 1 of November's layouts!  See you tomorrow for the rest of the reveals .........

My November Counterfeit Kit (FINALLY!)

I'm just putting a kit together quickly so no judgement!  I'll be honest too-I haven't printed out any pictures from my Vegas trip!  But, hope to do it this week since the kit is finally put together.
This month the paper divas at the Counterfeit Kit blog used the 2016 November  Emerson kits by Cirus Twist Kits as their Counterfeit inspiration:
Image result for emerson kit by citrus twist kits

I combined all their kits together (scrapbook, add on and PL) and was drawn to the tribal feel with mix of blues, pinks and yellows of the papers...I knew I had Maggie Holmes goodies in my stash that I saw in the scrapbook kit, so as usual I started with the papers...I knew I had wood veneers, the FP puffies, stars, black mini phrases ( I had Tim Holtz and may have some Heidi Swapp up in the stash)  and journaling cards so that's how I put my kit together.

Gold, feathers, enamels and VOILA!  MY KIT:

Scrappy Sunday! Look who I got to meet last week??!!

During my Vegas travels, I still found time to pack a mini kit and head off to one of the local scrapbook stores to meet some fellow scrappers!

The beautiful and talented Rochelle Spears who owns The ScrapRoom and runs the The ScrapRoom blog gathered some friends together to meet me and we had so much fun!  Thank you Rochelle-this was AWESOME!!
We met at the Paper Bunny where the lovely and also talented Deidre Smith was-shame she was working behind the counter that day otherwise we could've talked all day long!

It was short (we were double booked that day) but sweet and we made plans to scrap again -It was great meeting Pamela, Dee, Stacy and Claudia  and we may meet over at the other scrap store depending on where folks live next time but we will scrap again!
